creating icons for OpenOffice.org - case study

the image was created with Inkscape in vectorial format (SVG). default size is 400x400

 scaled scaled to 16x16
image was just scaled to the desired final resoultion, 16x16.
the result is fuzzy

 corrected correct scaled
image was scaled in vector format and the stroke was changed to 1 pixel width, black
the result is OK

 indexed indexed (256 colors)
image was indexed (256 colors) - this is the OpenOffice.org constraint for icons.
the result is blocky

 fished antialiased, with shadow
image from step 3 (true color), with perspective shadow added - like this can look in OpenOffice.org with Ximian patch for icons
this is clearly the best version so far
